What We Do > Information architecture

You don’t design and build a house without consulting an architect, and the same applies to our digital solutions.

Quite simply, a robust & supportable information architecture (IA) is the bed rock of a successful user experience.

tmg adopts a focussed, user-centred IA process that builds on user analysis. We use techniques such as ethnography (diary studies), card sorting, content inventories, and content concept mapping to establish and capture a user-centric model of content, and allow objective analysis.

Once a detailed site structure has been defined we will design key pages in a wire-frames. These include the various template types, main sections, and key areas of functionality. The wire-frames show how the content and functionality will be organised on-screen, as well as where technical components should sit.

Acting as a blueprint, wire-frames allow cost effective user testing, and updates to be made easily to information structure. Wire-frames provide an excellent means of determining navigation and site structure.
