Are eCommerce websites all the same? TMG has launched research into the brand and customer experience on leading female fashion eCommerce websites. The current generation of websites are being implemented on very similar technical platforms that provide the same commerce functionality. With the focus on functionality a lot of a company's brand identity is being stripped away and the experience is becoming very homogenous.
TMG will discover whether this functional approach maximises revenue or whether in the long term leads to brand damage. When a company spends a big proportion of their marketing and communications budget on differentiation and brand positioning why sacrifice this when the customer interacts with them? We also aim to explore whether there are better approaches that can support the brand, provide a better experience and maximise sales.
